Opinel No. 8 Foraging Knife

A classic mushroom knife from one of France's best-known knife makers - and one of Kristen's personal favorites.

The Opinel No. 8 Mushroom Knife is purpose-built for mushroom hunters, pairing Opinel's iconic wood-handled folding design with features made specifically for harvesting fungi.

The curved blade makes it easy to cut mushroom stems cleanly, while the built-in natural bristle brush helps remove soil and forest debris before your mushrooms go into the basket.

Compact, practical and beautifully simple, it's the kind of tool that feels equally at home in your pocket, foraging bag or mushroom basket.

Kristen likes this knife enough that she keeps two in rotation—because inevitably one of them is temporarily “lost” in a pack, pocket or somewhere among the mushroom gear.
